The emergency department is a case sensitive unit. The triage nurse picks clues that make each patient's case more time sensitive and the acuity of the nurse helps to prioritize on cases that need immediate, very urgent and urgent cases in order of their severity.This ensures that we manage all emergencies without delays.

The Department has grown from a 2 bed casualty to a 10 bed unit with two resuscitation beds and 8 observation/monitoring bed capacity. With the highly specialised team of doctors and nurses, the unit has the ability to handle upto 200 patients per day. The unit has capability of handling the mass incident casualties(MCI) with a recent experience with 2 school fires and motor vehicle accidents along the busy Jogoo road.

Our 24 hour Accident and Emergency is well equipped and has grown in its reputation to become a centre of excellence in emergency treatment and care in the East of Nairobi. We pride ourselves in timely services and post resuscitation success stories enabled by state of the art equipment and highly skilled emergency response team which has current life support training and works in conjuction with a team of specialised critical care staff. The unit is complemented by highly competent medical officers, Accident and Emergency trained nurses, among other personnel. It is thus highly specialised in the care of surgical and medical emergencies.
